Year-Round Programs

The Free Grocery Store – FOR ALL MASS RESIDENTS

We provide our community with farm-fresh vegetables and fruits, high-quality proteins, dairy products, dry goods, shelf-stable items, beverages, sweets, and loaves of bread from local bakeries. Guests can walk through the store and pick their own groceries off the shelves.

Visit once a week: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday 9:30am–3:30pm Wednesday 9:30am-6:30pm

No appointments needed. No IDs required. Please wear a mask while shopping.

Hopkinton Food Pantry

Once a week: We provide perishable and non-perishable groceries for Hopkinton residents, packed for curbside pick-up or delivery. Come to PJB for assistance with these items, Monday/ Tuesday/ Thursday 9:30am–3:30pm and Wednesday 9:30am-6:30pm.

Farmer’s Market

Visit the Free Grocery Store starting April 11th to pick out your own farm fresh produce at the Project Just Because Farmer’s Market.

Gluten-Free Food Pantry

Once a week: We provide an array of gluten-free groceries for those clients with this dietary restriction. Come to PJB for assistance with these items, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday 9:30am-3:30pm Wednesday 9:30am-6:30pm.

Clothing

We provide free new and gently used clothing for adults and children. Clothes of all sizes, including seasonal and professional work attire, are displayed on hangers for guests to peruse and choose items from. All MA residents can shop in our clothing store. All items are free of charge.

211 Emergency/Domestic Abuse Program

We provide an array of household necessities to help individuals and families who have experienced a crisis such as domestic abuse, natural disasters, house fires, transition from homelessness or incarceration, or recent immigration as refugees.

Basket of Love Program

We provide a custom care basket wrapped and filled with small gifts for special circumstances such as new babies or cancer treatments.

Birthday Program

We provide a minimum of two toys, a book, and a birthday bag with party items such as decorations and cake mix for children aged 1-12 years old. Fill out a Birthday Request form here within 30 days prior to the child’s birthdate.

General Requests

We provide certain necessities, such as bedding, toiletry kits, and baby care, not offered in our other programs. (Items will vary based on availability.) The form will open the first week of each month.

Thrift Store

Located at the entrance to the clothing program, our free thrift store gives away books, housewares, and anything else donated to us that we will not give out through our other programs.

Seasonal Programs

Valentine’s Day Program (February)

We provide a little love for children. The gift bag includes an assortment of bubbles, mini stuffed animals, candy, toys, chalk or crayons, mini-books, and snacks. A little valentine love for children up to age 12. Come to PJB for assistance with these items.

Easter baskets for children up to age 12. The basket includes an assortment of bubbles, mini stuffed animals, candy, toys, chalk or crayons, mini-books, and snacks. Come to PJB for assistance with these items.

Back to School Program (August)

We provide new backpacks from which a child can choose and then fill with the much-needed school supplies that we offer. This program is for preschoolers through seniors in high school.

Just visit PJB during our normal pantry hours and ask for backpacks. No online forms required.

If teachers have provided them to the kids, please bring each student’s supplies list.

Keep A Family Warm Program (October-February)

We provide our clients with winter coats, hats, gloves, and blankets for all ages. Our goal is to make sure we keep our friends and their families warm during the winter months. Come to PJB for assistance with these items.

Thanksgiving Program (November)

We provide all the items needed for a Thanksgiving to remember. Turkeys and other foods for Thanksgiving dinner are available at PJB throughout the month of November. No appointments required; just ask at the front desk. One visit per household.

Holiday Program (December)

We provide an assortment of holiday gifts for children up to age 18. No child should go without gifts during the holiday season, and we make sure that doesn’t happen. Parents or guardians may fill out a request for children in their households.
